This is such an important weekend. In the midst of all the fun, we mustn't forget the reason why we have the freedoms to be able to do so. Ever since this country was established, men and women all across this great nation have continued to fight to defend it. No matter what our opinions are over the current wars, we must thank our sailors, soldiers and marines who fight to preserve our most precious asset -- our freedom!
On this Memorial Day weekend, we need to take a moment and silently thank the men and women who have gave their all to serve this great nation. If you have a Military member in your midst, active duty or retired, be sure to thank them for their sacrifices. It takes a special person to lay down their life or to offer it to their country, so that others might live.
